NEW YORK CRASH CLAIMS LIFE OF WARREN MAN
Apr 2, 2015 | Car Accidents |
|According to law enforcement authorities with the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, a man was killed and a woman injured in a two vehicle collision. The accident occurred on March 24 around 7:45 a.m. on U.S. 62 in Kiantone.
Reportedly, the 57-year-old Warren man was driving south on the highway when his vehicle left the road for unknown reasons. His car then hit a guardrail before reentering the highway, then crashing head-on into an oncoming car traveling north on the road.
Responding emergency personnel pronounced the 57-year-old man dead at the scene of the accident. The driver of the other vehicle, a 50-year-old Russell woman, was injured in the accident. She was transported to WCA Hospital in Jamestown for treatment of injuries deemed non-life threatening. Police have not released any statement regarding the cause of the accident or whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
A person who is injured in a motor vehicle accident caused by another driver may seek to recover damages through the filing of a personal injury civil lawsuit. In the event the driver is killed in the accident, the injured victim may name the driver’s estate as the defendant. If the driver was found to have been negligent, causing the accident and the resulting injuries, the estate may then be required to pay a variety of damages, such as medical expenses, lost income, pain and suffering, ongoing treatment costs and property losses. Injured victims may thus benefit by speaking with a personal injury attorney about the facts of their cases in order to determine the best way to proceed.
